Air pollution fee program has being conducted in Taiwan since 1995. The air quality has being improved by great abatement of air pollutant emissions during pass decade with the frequency of PSI > 100 decreased significantly. This result indicated that air pollution control strategies are effective. This project evaluated the effectiveness of air pollution fee program and air pollution control programs in last ten years. The topics evaluated in this study include: (1) air pollution fee program, (2) management of air quality basin, (3) stationary source control strategy, (4) mobile source control strategy, and (5) public concerns. In order to improve air quality everlastingly, several workshops had been hold to discuss control strategy for next decade. Based on the successful experience of air quality management strategy in several countries, a concept of Taiwan Clean Air Plan has been proposed to develop a bright, solid master plan to achieve the goal of clean air in the future.
